1. Incorrect Financial Documents
The most common reason for a student visa refusal is failure to meet the strict financial requirements. Bank statements must be in your name (or your parents'), clearly show the required funds have been held for a consecutive 28-day period, and must be in the exact format required by UKVI.
2. Discrepancies in Information
Ensure that the information on your visa application matches your CAS, your educational certificates, and your passport perfectly. Even a misspelled name or incorrect date of birth can cause significant delays or refusal.
3. Applying Too Late
Do not wait until the last minute. You can apply for a UK Student visa up to 6 months before your course starts. Applying late can mean missing your course start date if processing is delayed.
4. Failing the Credibility Interview
You may be asked to attend an interview to prove you are a genuine student. You must be able to speak clearly about why you chose your course, the university, and how it aligns with your career goals. Failing to articulate this convincingly can result in a refusal.
